Massa Marittima is a charming medieval village nestled in the Metalliferous Hills, surrounded by the Maremma countryside and rich in historical, environmental, artistic and architectural beauties inherited from a thriving past.
Walking through the narrow uphill alleys of the characteristic historic center it is possible to reach the highest part of the city and enjoy a suggestive panorama from the valley to the sea and incomparable sunsets.
Many of the most beautiful places in Massa Marittima are concentrated in the beautiful square of the city, but the area is also known for other attractions, such as the Carapax Park, a European center for the protection of all species of turtles, which also hosts a large number of storks. Nearby is also the Parco delle Colline Metallifere Grossetane, part of the Geoparks recognized by Unesco.
